ABSTRACT
The term ganglioglioma is generally credited to have been first introduced into the neuropathologic literature by Courville in the early 1930s (Courville, 1930, 1931). Actual recognition of the lesion, though, likely predates the work of Courville (Perkins, 1926). Several studies, which followed in the next two decades, confirmed the lesion as a distinct entity and defined the clinical and morphologic features that today are recognized as part of the ganglioglioma (Wolf and Morton, 1937; Courville and Anderson, 1941; Bailey and Beiser, 1947).
