ABSTRACT
Compression hosiery is used to control edema from any cause, to compress varicose veins and to prevent venous thrombosis. This account will concentrate on its role in the prevention and treatment of venous ulceration. It is important that those doctors responsible for running ulcer clinics have some knowledge of elastic hosiery construction and compression
values and of the various products available, as this aspect of management is as important as accurate diagnosis and treatment.
