ABSTRACT

Hepatic cavernous hemangioma and hemangioendothelioma may regress spontaneously, but such regression is rare in the case of large lesions. Therapeutic modalities include anticongestive therapy, high-dose corticosteroids, irradiation, embolization, hepatic artery ligation, and partial hepatic resection.29

Resection of the tumor by lobectomy is the treatment of choice whenever feasible, but when the whole liver is involved, ligation of the common hepatic artery is indicated.
