Administrative and staffing problems for psychiatric services in correctional and forensic settings

Persons, both mentally ill and who are believed to have committed criminal acts (or have committed criminal acts and are believed to be mentally ill) have been enmeshed historically in a complex pattern of relationships and movement between mental health facilities, state correctional facilities, courts, local correctional centers, and ultimately, the mental health system.
