ABSTRACT
Psychiatric abuse has been in the forefront of concern, not only for psychiatrists but also for other mental health professions and the general public. However, over the past several decades this concern has been primarily focused on the political abuse of psychiatry in regard to dissidents in the former Soviet Union.
