ABSTRACT
Inhalation of mineral dusts can cause pleural disease. Pleural abnormalities can occur in patients with pneumoconioses, and on occasions the pleura may be affected without lung involvement. Inorganic pleural disease includes several pathological disorders, ranging from pleural fibrosis and calcification to malignant transformation.
