ABSTRACT
Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is the application of established or new surgical procedures in a fashion that leads to the reduction of the trauma of access and thereby minimizes tissue trauma and accelerates recovery of the patient. Surgical operations are conducted by remote manipulation within the closed confines of body cavities, lumens of hollow organs and body planes under visual control via telescopes, cameras and screens.
