ABSTRACT
HEALTH PROMOTION You are a SHO seeing a patient in a diabetes follow-up clinic. Ms Brown is 68 years old and was diagnosed with diabetes during a hospital admission following a fall 6 weeks ago. She was commenced on oral hypoglycaemic treatment. Her general practitioner has written to you voicing his concern that she is only taking her treatment when her blood sugar gets too high (20 mmol/L). She has also been going to a specialist in natural medicine, who is treating her diabetes with herbal remedies. Please discuss her diabetes care with her.
