ABSTRACT
Introduction This chapter considers long-term health and rehabilitation needs by comparing and contrasting the needs of a younger and an older individual following a stroke.The two scenarios follow the care of an older couple and a younger family.Through these two families, the chapter examines how government policy affects the service that these individuals receive and explores the physical and psychological care that they require.
