ABSTRACT
This section also includes considerations of how nurses might approach the assessment and engagement with people who represent a risk to themselves, through suicide or self-harm. We also consider how care is documented, through record-keeping and as preparation for discharge.And we consider the highly specific role of the nurse in the electroconvulsive therapy delivery programme in which caring and clinical expertise must achieve a perfect balance.
