ABSTRACT
In the rst ASFO “Workbook,” a loose-leaf binder, the concept of child abuse in context to the aspiring forensic dentist covered six double-spaced pages. e topic has expanded over 33 years to include intimate partner violence (IPV), elder abuse, abuse in pregnancy, fetal abuse, and abuse of the disabled. e ASFO Manual/“Workbook” was the rst forensic dental compendium to address the topic, and now the subject is regularly included in odontology texts and is seen more frequently in dental journals. us, the ASFO has been and continues to be a leader in domestic violence (DV) education and educational materials for the dental professional.
