ABSTRACT

In reality, rock mass is homogeneous in only extremely rare cases. In order to overcome this problem and find a situation more in line with the theory (homogeneous blasted volume), our approach lies in determining the discontinuities that give the rock mass its heterogeneous characteristics at the time of blasting. The rock to be blasted must be described through its discontinuities and their variations. The aim of collecting information is to find an organisation in space (blasting geometry) and in time (initiation dynamics), which makes it possible to find homogeneous confinement around each charge.
