ABSTRACT
The assessment of fragmentation in blasting and in any of the subsequent crushing and grinding stages is an important issue in mining control and optimization. Fragmentation characteristics influence the mucking productivity, the crusher throughput and energy consumption, the plant efficiency, yield and recovery, and the price itself of the end product in the case of industrial minerals and aggregates.
