ABSTRACT

The uterine sarcomas comprise a heterogeny of pure mesenchymal and mixed epithelial-mesenchymal neoplasms whose clinical profiles range from relatively indolent neoplasms that characteristically present at low clinical stage and are cured by removal, to very aggressive neoplasms that routinely present at a high stage, spread locally, disseminate both regionally and distantly, and are, over the course of one to several years, characteristically fatal.
