ABSTRACT

In the past few decades drugs and radiation therapy, in addition to medical and surgical procedures, have become a significant cause of pleural involvement (1-8). This chapter is devoted to drug-and radiation-induced pleural disease, whereas iatrogenic and procedure-induced pleural involvement is considered separately (see Chapter 45). Being cognizant of iatrogenic pleural disease enables earlier diagnosis and may prevent unnecessary search for the cause of pleural effusion or thickening.
