ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at current practices in functional capacity evaluations as part of the return-to-work process for patients/clients with pain. After describing current practice, the authors provide a discussion of the literature with respect to evidence regarding concerns for the effectiveness, validity, reliability, and limitations of the use of functional capacity assessments.
