ABSTRACT

A.1.1. CITAC: Co-operation on International Traceability in Analytical Chemistry arose from an international workshop held in association with the Pittsburgh Conference in Atlanta, March 1993. CITAC aims to foster collaboration between existing organizations to improve the international comparability of chemical measurement. A working group co-ordinates activities that include production of a directory of reference materials under development, preparation of quality system guidelines for the production of reference materials, preparation of a directory of chemical metrology activities, definition of criteria for establishing traceability to the mole, and preparation of an international guide to quality in analytical chemistry (1).
