ABSTRACT
A laboratory quality audit should always be performed with the primary intention of improving the laboratory. Since many areas of quality improvement exist, the audit becomes an important management tool for evaluating technical competence and competitiveness. Good communications can drive organizational improvement. When a continuous quality improvement process is in place, a laboratory can become more productive, more competitive, and a better place to be employed.
