ABSTRACT

Technology generally goes through a period of birth, growth, and

then maturity. When a technology reaches that stage and finds its

place in laymen’s everyday lives, it can have an enormous cultural

impact. In particular, the late 20th century growth of informational

technology and the synergies that it created with a variety of other

industries transformed the daily lifestyle to previously unexpected

levels. The birth of smart clothing must be understood under this

context.
