ABSTRACT

Skin Cancer Nonmelanoma skin cancers (basal cell, squamous cell) are the most common malignancies in the United States. More than 1 million skin cancers will be diagnosed in the United States this year. The cure rate for nonmelanoma skin cancer is more than 90% with early detection and appropriate treatment. The incidence of nonmelanoma skin cancer is increasing because of a combination of increased exposure to ultraviolet light, changes in clothing style, increased longevity, and atmospheric ozone depletion.
