ABSTRACT

After assessing primary urine loss symptoms, an assessment of severity of incontinence is made by a 3-or 7-day bladder diary. The patient is asked to record oral liquid intake and timing of all the voids during the day. Episodes of urgency and incontinence are also recorded. This instrument provides baseline information and serves as a tool to monitor progress made during therapy. If urine loss-precipitating events are noted, additional useful information is obtained.
