ABSTRACT
What controls the phenotypic variation seen in Capsicum? Many single genes controlling phenotypes of interest have been indentifi ed, and some have been mapped onto the genome of pepper (Chapter 4). Most traits, however, are complex and have only been accessible to analysis and mapping in the last 20 years. New technologies and high-throughput analyses have increased our ability to make sense of the genes controlling phenotypes of horticultural interest.
