ABSTRACT

Photography, mapping, collection of evidence, reconstruction of events, etc. are all processes used to develop and document the investigators’ theories about the criminal event. e technical skills required of a crime scene investigator (along with the tasks they perform) are reviewed by Capsambelis (2002) and Smith et al. (2008). But these technical steps should not be confused with the principal purpose of solving a crime (Jamieson 2004), a task oen reserved for the courts.
