ABSTRACT

In many countries the collection and storage of evidence in criminal cases will be under the supervision of an appropriately trained person – a scenes of crime ocer (SOCO) in Britain, for example. It may be, however, that evidence has to be dealt with by those who are rst at the scene (see later). is introduces a number of complications. In particular, it means that great care will be needed to ensure high standards and to minimise cross contamination or spoilage.
