The index of the gold layer n3, as well as that of the chromium layer, is complex and depends on the incoming wavelength l0, which will be fixed in this study, as well as that of the chromium layer, n2 (l0). The functionalization layer is used to fasten the biological molecules of interest in the vicinity of the gold layer. Its optical index is n4.
