ABSTRACT
Although haemolysis is a relatively frequent complication of prosthetic valve implantation, only rarely does it become severe enough to cause anaemia, which may determine a choice of reintervention. The recognition and estimation of severity of haemolysis after valve implantation are important steps in the patient follow-up and the premise for a rational treatment.
