ABSTRACT

The size of the follicles may be an important feature for subsequent embryonic development, but the developmental competence of oocytes derived from small antral follicles seems not to be adversely affected by the presence of a dominant follicle. It is important to identify the maturity of oocytes at egg collection in order to maximize the success rate of infertility treatment. Although it seems that the laboratory is the ‘key’ for IVM treatment, other clinical aspects have to be taken into account for a successful pregnancy.
