ABSTRACT
Many years have passed since the in-vitro maturation (IVM) of animal oocytes was first performed by Edwards1 in the 1960s. In-vitro maturation of human oocytes has now been technically mastered for a decade2. Substantial improvements in efficacy have been achieved so that the technique has really quit the research sphere and entered routine clinical use about 5 years ago.
