ABSTRACT
Midface fractures represent 10-20% of all facial fractures. A detailed understanding of the major support structures and anatomy of the midfacial skeleton is required to appreciate the fracture patterns that occur and were initially described by the pioneering work of Lefort. Only key points in the surgical anatomy are briefly reviewed here, while a more detailed review using a skull model is highly recommended.
