ABSTRACT

This chapter provides the cutaneous surgeon with an up-to-date, practical approach to skin neoplasms to encourage organized thinking from the time of initial contact with the patient to the selection and execution of the most appropriate therapy. This is not a exhaustive review. Many entities for which surgery is not indicated have not been included (i.e., cutaneous lymphomas) and from each group of neoplasms only the most frequent were selected. Both benign and malignant tumors will be described, but emphasis is placed in those most likely to be found in clinical practice. Rare tumors are only briefly mentioned for the sake of completeness.
