ABSTRACT
Data mining is a process of extracting useful knowledge from data and can be applied to support medical decision-making. In this chapter we provide a basic introduction to data mining and its application to head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC) prognosis. We include a case example on 5-year survival rate prediction and explore directions for future work.
