ABSTRACT

SPINAL TUMOURS IN PREGNANCY Although the most common spinal tumours are bony metastases from an extraspinal primary malignancy, these are seldom encountered in pregnancy. More likely, but still uncommon, is the patient with an occult spinal tumour, typically benign, that presents during the pregnancy. This may be by chance, or due to hormonally mediated growth of the tumour aggravated by the pregnancy.
