The improvements included removing all interior walls, erecting and painting new walls, applying new floor coverings, and replacing the electrical wiring, plumbing, and ventilation ducts. Many staff members working nearby were upset by the noise, and the cleaning staff complained about the increased demand on them to remove dust and grime coming from the renovation activities.
