ABSTRACT
When the French army invaded Portugal in November 1810 the defensive lines were completed and military garrisons protected. Following sporadic clashes and withdrawal of the French army that was in Portugal between 10 October and 14 November 1810, works proceeded until 1812, when there were 152 redoubts.
