ABSTRACT

Compressed Earth Blocks have some constraints like the cheapest of these machines, “Mardini” available from the workshop of “Mrinmayee”, Bangalore, costs $1200/-. This is rather a large sum to invest by a home builder. The making process requires the user to understand the proper mix, water content, weight, and compaction. When these issues are not taken care of, the blocks do not perform well, especially with respect to weathering leading to the technology being abandoned.
