ABSTRACT
Beneficial bacteria that live in the plant rhizosphere must cope with different environmental and biotic stresses in order to establish a successful relationship with their host plants. These bacteria have evolved different protein secretion systems that enable them to survive in hostile environments and facilitate colonization of their eukaryotic hosts.
