ABSTRACT
In designing timber structures special attention must be paid to the designing of fasteners in between elements. The construction requirements set on metal fastening elements - minimum spacings and distances - may lead to the point in which it is not possible to ensure the number of necessary fastening elements in a joint. This in turn brings about the enlargement of the used cross sections and makes the construction rough and irrational.
