Heart failure (HF) is a knotty clinical syndrome, resulting from any structural or functional cardiac abnormality that impairs the ability of the ventricle to fi ll with or eject blood. It is characterized by specifi c symptoms, such as dyspnea and fatigue, and signs, such as those associated with fl uid retention.
