ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the authors aim to make a brief introduction to trace element analysis, history and development followed by a discussion on the need for speciation analysis and an introduction to defi nitions and terms. Basic principles and operations of chemical analysis process are discussed from the speciation point of view.
