Historically, women had few or no rights, and were considered second-class citizens. In fact, they were looked upon as weak, having very little intellect, and were deemed inferior to men. ey were actually forced into matrimony, and were prohibited from working, owning property, voting, and so much more.* at was then, and this is now; fast forward to the twenty-rst century.
