ABSTRACT
The term gasification has been broadly applied to a variety of technologies that take a solid “fuel” (or furnish, such as wood waste, silage, waste grasses, pulp mill black liquor, etc.) and convert it to gases. Incinerators operating under starved-air or substoichiometric combustion systems are often called gasifiers because they indeed are-and the term is more politically correct than incinerator.
