ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a step-by-step procedure for installing and starting up a centrifugal pump in the field. The most important consideration for the successful installation and startup of many pumps is careful attention to alignment. After the pump is started, the benchmarks used to monitor performance throughout the life of the pump are established. These benchmarks include hydraulic performance, temperature, and vibration.
