ABSTRACT

For the case of corrosion occurring in an aqueous medium, the resultant electrochemical process involves both anodic (or oxidation) and cathodic (or reduction) reactions. is also applies to atmospheric corrosion where the electrochemical reactions take place under thin electrolyte lms. e dissolution of metal M is represented by the anodic reaction:
