ABSTRACT

There has been a revolution in ophthalmic diagnostics and therapeutics since the invention of lasers in 1960. This chapter will summarize the most common therapeutic uses of ophthalmic lasers, starting at the front of the eye (anterior segment) with corneal refractive uses, lenticular refractive and cataract uses, and glaucoma treatments, and then moving to the back of the eye (posterior segment) to look at the treatment of retinal disorders.
