ABSTRACT

Lasers in urology have been used to treat many common urological problems including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urogenital malignancies, urolithiasis, ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction, stricture disease, and tissue lesions. There are several different types of lasers with different specifications that are being employed in the field of urology today (Table 62.1). The goal of this chapter is to summarize the types of lasers and their clinical applications in urology.
