ABSTRACT
The ever-growing demands of life-science and healthcare services
and solutions call for continuous substantial advancements in
various biophotonic applications, in particular in label-free imag-
ing and diagnostics. The powerful knowledge base acquired in
telecommunications and its well-developed photonic components
can be leveraged for the stringent requirements in biophotonic
applications.
