ABSTRACT

Since its invention, the integrated circuit technology has allowed to

put on the same piece of semiconductor from a fewworking devices,

at its very beginning, to tens of billions nowadays. The increasing

complexity of integrated circuits qualifies them as intelligent

nanosystems. The Pan Stanford Series on Intelligent Nanosystems

will include several books aiming at reviewing all aspects of active

and passive device physics, their technology, and device to system

architectures.
