ABSTRACT

One has to consider that for children, hospitals visits can be stressful-a very unusual building with unfamiliar paintings, people are busy and strangely dressed, everywhere waiting for a call is necessary, and much more. If children use the same waiting area as adults, then the confrontation with handicapped and disabled adults, or intensive care patients can induce anxiety. Computed tomography (CT) machines are huge for children, the CT tunnel may not attract children, positioning on the CT couch is uncomfortable, no movements are allowed, and even several times breath-holding is mandatory.
