Radiation is a hazard to people, animals, and the environment, affecting both everyday life and the workplace. Therefore, it is important that adequate protection measures are taken. As a general rule, radiation protection measures are easier to apply in the controlled environment of a workplace. This chapter aims to highlight some important aspects of radiation protection with particular reference to the medical environment.
