ABSTRACT

The high costs of products display in the stores usually hinder the expansion plan of retail stores. How to save cost and simplify the sales process and let customers browse the commodity they want to buy speedily are very important. The store should provide good services that are closer to a customer’s demands and therefore satisfy the customer’s demands. However, some literatures pointed out that the methods to obtaining information of consumer behavior are still very rare [1]. Due to the concerns mentioned above, Taiwan’s Kang Siang Technology Company (KS Technology)had developed the digital shopping system to solve the problems. The system is named the intelligent interactive guide-shopping system. KS Technology had combined near field communication (NFC) technology and radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for the application of this system. The paper will try to use case study methods to discuss how this shopping system can enhances the shopping efficiency for consumers but also saves energy in the stores with less display space and marketing costs. The stores could also collect shopping information in order to realize the consumers’behavior and then offer better service.
